On 20th October 2016, Machakos County was honoured to have hosted the first Mashujaa Day celebrations outside the Capital, Nairobi and are grateful to the President for believing in our capacity.

To pay tribute to the heroes who fought for our freedom from the colonialists, H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta, C.G.H this  unveiled a life-size statue of the late Hon. Paul Ngei at Makutano. This is in addition to statues of the late Muindi Mbingu and Hon. Mulu Mutisya I recently unveiled in Machakos town. The president also commissioned construction of a dual carriage of Mombasa Road from Athi River to Machakos turn off at Kyumbi.

We cannot have peace without justice nor development without unity: my appeal to Kenyans and the Government is for us to unite and relentlessly fight graft. I also call on my fellow leaders to work in unison towards improving the lives of the people we represent.

Maendeleo Chap Chap will support and work with development-minded leaders to improve the lives of Kenyans.
